Visit to Grand Teton National Park
This past October, we drove up and spent three days in Grand Teton National Park. It is a half day drive from our front door in Park City, UT. We have visited it many times over the years and between its scenic beauty and its animals, it remains my favorite. In the brief photo summary of our visit below, there are two pictures I find to be of special interest. The first, approximately one third of the way through the set, is a photo of a wedding party returning from a wedding held within the park boundary. Apparently such park weddings are common, but do require special permission from the Park Service. The second is the last picture in the set. Unlike the other pictures which were all taken using a Canon EOS 7D Mark II, with either an EF 24-105 mm F4 L IS or an EF 70-300 mm F4-5.6 L IS lens, this picture was taken with a small Nikon pocket point and shoot camera. We took it from the summit of the Grand Teton, shown among the clouds in the preceding three pictures of the set. It is the reverse shot of those pictures, having been taken some eighteen years earlier after a two day climb from the valley floor under the supervision of Exum Mountain Guides. The picture set is here.
